On the same day wheelchairs for DOPS patients were turned over Of course this was welcome news and so the department officials put together a simple welcome ceremony to honor their kind hearted donors from Lufthansa.  On the day of the turnover, no less than the company’s President and CEO Mr. Gerald Frielinghaus arrived to personally hand over their donation to the department.

In his message to the PGHMFI below, Lufthansa Technik Philippines President & CEO Gerald Frielinghaus explains their commitment and their donation to the hospital.

“The support we have provided to the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation fulfills our corporate social responsibility of alleviating the quality of life among Filipino children.  Our donation of twenty-six wheelchairs and the renovation of their Interdisciplinary Multipurpose Therapy room show our full support to PGH’s desire to improve the learning environment of special children and provide care and medical assistance to patients of the hospital.

“The funding for the renovation and the wheelchairs was made possible by the men and women of Lufthansa Technik in Germany who gathered cash contributions during their Christmas party last December 2012.  We hope that these contributions, together with our shared dedication for the same cause, go a long way for the Filipino community.  We sincerely wish PGH all the best in their efforts and mission.”

A whole hearted THANK YOU Lufthansa Technik and Mr. Frielinghaus – from all of us – the PGHMFI, the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, the Dept. of Out-Patients Services and the whole community of the PGH.
