1. Direct Solicitation was the main focus from the very start. Friends, known philanthropists, other organizations and corporations, alumni, local and overseas were identified and sent letters of solicitations and usually followed by telephone calls were it is necessary and possible.
2. Launching of “SAVE A LIFE PROJECT”
The foundation realizes that one of the perennial problems that our PGH staff encounters was the provision of medicine for our indigent patients. It was this situation that we decided to underscore this problem by making it a focus of our fund-raising campaign. We launched this project with a program and a cocktail party on August 21, 2003 at the UP-PGH Social Hall as one of the main activities during the PGH Foundation Week. UP and PGH officials and dignitaries including Pres. Nemenzo, representatives of pharmaceutical companies and other outside guests were invited.
3. Benefit Art Show. Recent works by Impy Pilapil was exhibited at the Manila Peninsula Hotel on October 24, 2003. The cocktail party which opened the show was attended by prominent guests as well as UP and PGH officers. 50% of the sale was donated to the Foundation.
4. Participation at the “Tiangge” at PGH Grounds in November 2003. This earned the foundation the amount of Php 71,000.00. A portion of which was given to PGH as its share.
5. Solicitation of non-cash donations such as drugs, equipments, and hospital supplies. These donations were solicited from pharmaceutical companies and individuals.
2004
1. The “Alkansya” – contribution canisters that are placed in various establishments for the SAVE A LIFE PROJECT of 2003, a fund for free medicine for the indigent patients of PGH.
2. Launching of ALAY SA PGH – This is an umbrella fund drive for our project at PGH and chaired by Ms. Cory Quirino. It was held on August 20, 2004 at the UP Manila Social Hall, 8th Floor, PGH Central Block Building.
3. UP President’s Cup Golf Tournament
The PGH Medical Foundation, Inc. had its first benefit golf tournament on November 8, 2004 at the Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa City billed as UP President’s Cup Golf Tournament, in honor of UP President Francisco Nemenzo, for his last term in office. The sports event is the first fund-raising activity of the foundation’s ALAY SA PGH fund-campaign. A total of 124 golf enthusiasts composed of PGH affiliated doctors, supporters and benefactors of PGH Medical Foundation, representatives and clients of corporate sponsors and members of Alabang Country Club showed up and actively participated in the sports event.
4. “A Grand Night of Fashion & Music for PGH”
A grand presentation of “Fashion and Music for PGH” last November 27, 2004 at the Grand Ballroom of the Westin Philippine Plaza Hotel. The show was a fund-raising event for the foundation’s two projects – the free medicine program for indigent patients and the renovation of the hospital’s main pharmacy. Three top performers, Robert Seña, Isay Alvarez and Pinky Marquez sang to a packed audience. The main event, the Fashion Show by Mr. Pitoy Moreno, featured his 100-piece Philippine Costume-Inspired collection, which had been shown and acclaimed at several cities abroad. The show was preceded by a sit-down dinner. Several guests from the diplomatic corps came as well as government officials and the UP Manila and PGH hierarchy was represented. The event was made possible by efforts of the Chairperson of the Event, Mme. Lolita Escobar-Mirpuri and Over-All Chairperson of ALAY SA PGH Fund-Drive Ms. Cory Quirino.
2005
1. Golf Tournament:
For 2005, only one major fund raising event pushed through. The UP Manila Chancellor’s Golf Cup was held on November 14 at Ayala Alabang Country Club with 120 golf enthusiasts who enjoyed the tournament.
2. One-page solicitation letterIn September, a one-page printed solicitation letter were developed and sent out to individual target donors. This letter gives our prospective donors different options to donate, such as donations in-kind or in cash; a one-time donation or a yearly pledge and a donation schemes by cheque, direct deposit to our accounts or thru BPI credit cards.
3. Alkansya or coin banks – Canisters for donations were continuously placed in various network commercial establishments.
4. Solicitation of non-cash donations such as drugs, equipments, and hospital supplies. These donations were solicited from pharmaceutical companies and individuals.
2006
1. Direct Solicitation continues to be one of the foundation’s major efforts.
2. Golf Tournament. The tournament was held last November 14, 2005 at the Alabang Country Club. A total of 120 golf enthusiasts, composed of PGH doctors, supporters and benefactors of PGH Medical Foundation, representatives and clients of corporate sponsors and members of Alabang Country Club showed up and actively participated in the sports event.
3. Auction Sale.This event was originally scheduled for October 2005 and preparations were started early in the year but in August of 2005, it was postponed and moved to February 06, 2006 to make it bigger. Originally, it was meant for a smaller group and was supposed to be an early afternoon affair with just cocktails. Preparations for the said event took the latter half of 2005, which included cocktails, dinner and entertainment. The event was set on February 09, 2006, using a Valentine’s theme.

1. Golf Tournament
This annual fund raising event, billed Director’s Cup, was held at the Sta. Elena Golf Club on November 5, 2007.
“2. PGH Centennial Gala Night
This event required most of our efforts for the whole year. It capped the celebration of PGH 100 year’s birthday, and consisted of a formal grand concert at the Manila Hotel Fiesta Pavilion on August 17, 2007, where Gary Valenciano and his group had a sterling performance. This was attended by luminaries and celebrities from government, society, and UP officials. This was a fund raising event for the Charity Patients Medical Fund. This was a fitting climax for the PGH Centennial celebrations.

4. Coin Canisters “Alkansya”. These are earnings of coin canisters deployed at various commercial establishments.
5. Solicitation of non-cash donations such as drugs, equipments, and hospital supplies. These donations were solicited from pharmaceutical companies mainly thru PHAP, individuals, and Philippine War Veterans who regularly sends supplies and equipment from the US.

1. “Sining at Awit 2” Art Auction (Feb. 2008).This is the second benefit art auction held to raise funds for the renovation of the comfort rooms of the Department of Out-Patients Services (DOPS). Auctioneer was Ms. Cory Quirino and Mr. Alvin Anson.
2. “Director’s Cup” Golf Tournament (Nov. 10, 2008) – This is the fifth annual golf event in honor of the Philippine General Hospital Director, Dr. Carmelo Alfiler. This is for the benefit of the “Charity Patients’ Medical Fund” program. Dr. Telesforo Gana was the Tournament Director.
