The University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Society in America, also known as ’UPMASA’, donated US$ 50,000 to the Ortoll Primary Reproductive Health Care Center through the PGHMFI for the purchase of additional equipment and furniture earmarked for the facility’s delivery and labor room. This donation certainly helped achieve the goal of the project in providing short term obstetrical stay in the birthing center component of the project. Equipment and furniture purchased through this donation include the following; 1 unit LCD projector, Sound System, 4units EPSON Printer, 1 unit digital ultrasound, 4 units desktop computers, 2 units fetal monitor, 1 unit patient monitor, 1 unit anesthesia machine, 4 units “botaka”, 8 units gang chair, CCTV cameras, labeler and 1 unit germicidal ultra violet lamp.
This is not the first time that UPMASA donated through PGH Medical Foundation. A major donation was the renovation of the UP PGH Science Hall which cost 12M pesos. The hall is now renamed UPMASA UP-PGH Science Hall. Previous donations through the foundation also include furniture for the waiting area of the renovated PGH main pharmacy and linens for the OR and wards altogether amounting to Php300,000.
The US$50,000 donation was facilitated through the efforts of Dr. Zenda Lat, President of UPMASA and Dr. Ofelia Bernabe, Chaiperson of the finance committee. Thank you very much UPMASA
